The certification represents the completion of a project to dually certify the Simulator to both aircraft and support customers such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service – Queensland Section (RFDS), whom operate both aircraft and supported Ansett and Flight Options in signing long-term contracts as the launch customer on the Simulator in mid-2016 at the UTS facility.
The Simulator is equipped with the Rockwell Collins Pro Line 21 avionics, TRU RealCue motion system and advanced ADAS-X digital audio system to provide optimum motion, audio and display performance.
With both the KA350i and B200 aircraft now supported in the Australian market with Full Flight Simulator training, Ansett CEO David Garside said “the Beechcraft aircraft has a long and proud history in Australian aviation and perfectly suited to Australian conditions. This Simulator is another key step for operators, enabling operators to have a complete training solution in the Australian market”, thus adding to the existing customer support programs established in the region by Flight Options, aircraft manufacturer Textron and the distributor for Beechcraft in the region, Hawker Pacific. A full suite of training will be delivered on the Simulator by Flight Options, across both the 350i and B200 aircraft.
This announcement comes weeks after, Ansett announced the development of a new 3 bay simulator training centre in Brisbane, Australia, supported by the Government of the State of Queensland – Industry attraction fund, which will include bringing to the Australian market the first ATR 72-600 Full Flight simulator. Ansett is this continuing its strategy and focus on building Simulator capacity in the North of Australia to better support its Pacific region customers.
