Ansett Aviation Training, in partnership with the Regional Aviation Association of Australia (RAAA), is proud to offer the Ansett Aviation Training Pilot Scholarship to support the development of pilots within regional Australia.
This scholarship is designed to assist professional pilots in advancing their careers in regional aviation through a Beechcraft Super King Air B200 Type Rating Endorsement delivered by Ansett Aviation Training.
Two scholarships will be awarded in 2026.

What the Scholarship Includes
The Ansett Aviation Training Pilot Scholarship for 2026 is now accepting applications from pilots who are Australian citizens and meet the following minimum qualifications:
The scholarship includes:
- Beechcraft Super King Air B200 Type Rating
- Ground school and simulator training
- Accommodation for the duration of the course (up-to 12 working days)
Please note: Travel costs are not included.
Eligibility Requirements
The selection criteria for the scholarship include, but are not limited to:
- Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Minimum 500 hours total flight time
- Current Instrument Rating
- Hold a CPL or ATPL
- Completed PXS/GTE theory
- Affiliated with an RAAA member or Ansett Aviation Training
- Currently working in, or intending to work in, regional aviation
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be assessed based on:
- Commitment to regional aviation
- Professionalism and airmanship
- Decision making and safety mindset
- Training attitude and work ethic
- Career progression and benefit from the scholarship
- Employer and training organisation recommendations
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend an interview – virtual, or in person.

Essay Questions (Applicants should prepare in advance)
Applicants are required to prepare written responses to the following questions as part of the application process:
- Regional aviation plays a critical role in connecting and supporting communities across Australia. Explain why regional aviation is important to you, and how you see your career contributing to this sector over the next 10 years. (Maximum 300 words)
- What does airmanship mean to you, and how do you demonstrate it in your day-to-day flying or workplace activities? Provide a practical example. (Maximum 300 words)
- Describe a situation where you had to make a difficult decision in aviation or in the workplace. What was the situation, what decision did you make, and what did you learn from it? (Maximum 300 words)
- The King Air B200 endorsement is an intensive course with a high performance standard. Describe how you prepare for training events such as flight tests, instrument renewals, or aircraft endorsements. (Maximum 250 words)
- Why should you be selected for this scholarship, and how will the King Air B200 endorsement change your career and contribution to aviation? (Maximum 300 words)
